Foolishly harm one’s own because, as in 

He really shot himself in the foot, telling the interviewer all about the others who were applying for the job he wanted. This colloquial term alludes to an accidental shooting as opposed to a deliberate one done so as to avoid military service.

Just after stopping what was predicted to be an electoral disaster for them, the democrats have twice in my opinion, shot themselves in the foot!    

Let us be honest, the best motivation their voters had was their extreme hate for our former President Trump.    

Their policies in the last two years with Biden have not only failed, but mainly consisted in reversing our past President’s ones that were, in most parts, extremely effective.   

You could be critical and abhor his personality, as I do, but everyone has to admit that in both domestic and foreign, before COVID came, our country was in excellent shape.      

So what have they done?   

First they are trying one more time, through our Justice Dpt. lackey Garland to start another investigation naming another special counsel.   

This further action comes after two failed impeachment attempts, a prior council probing the fake, now known started by the Hillary campaign, Trump-Putin connection and the still active January 6 “’insurrection” probe by an all Democrat panel!    

Another factor that played in the results was the decision of SCOTUS to reverse, the often criticized law Roe vs. Wade.  

Opposite of the falsehoods spread by the left, this reversal did NOT prohibit abortions only send the authority to determine limits to the States where our Constitution ordained that power should be.   

Second, Senate majority Schumer defended our disastrous border policy stating that we needed illegal immigration because there were too few children born in the US!    

First the logical action, if indeed this was true, is to open up the legal process but more important is that this absurd statement comes from a leader of a party that encourages murdering the unborn by aborting, then complains about the lack of births!

LA LIBERTAD NO ES OBSOLETA 

A propósito de la muerte de Pablo Milanés y a petición del autor de esta columna, LIBRE publica el siguiente texto que vio la luz el 26 de agosto de 2011 en estas mismas páginas.

El cantautor Pablito Milanés declaró que las protestas del exilio cubano en contra de su concierto son “actitudes” que “ya son obsoletas”.  Gran error Pablito. 

Aunque fuera verdad que solo una minoría de nosotros estuviéramos en contra de tu presentación, cosa que dudo, 

tenemos en este país la libertad de hacerlo.  

Lo que siempre han estado y siempre estarán obsoletas son las tiranías. El problema estriba en que el famoso cantautor y muchos otros recién llegados de Cuba y criados dentro de un régimen represivo no conocen realmente como se define en los EE.UU. el ser libre.

La protección de los derechos individuales debe primar sobre las opiniones mayoritarias.     

La ley acá protege, por desagradable que sean, actuaciones de individuos o pequeños grupos limitados solamente por las leyes civiles y criminales.      

Esta libertad salvaguarda a la ciudadanía de una “dictadura de la mayoría” como sucedió al inicio del Castrato en Cuba. 

No neguemos que muchos en Cuba, aplaudían, toleraban o trataban de ignorar los fusilamientos, confiscaciones de las propiedades privadas y la censura de la libre expresión. 

Este apoyo no niega que estos actos fueran criminales o que no deban ser juzgados como tal.     

La defensa de asesinatos, robos y ausencia de derechos civiles, son las “libertades” que están obsoletas,  no las protestas a los que en algún momento apoyaron estos crímenes.

Es posible que Milanés haya disminuido su lealtad inicial por solapadas críticas.    

Quizás este cambio es por convicción o simplemente con el objeto de protegerse en vista del futuro incierto de la tiranía en Cuba.     

No lo sé, ni me importa.

Respeto el derecho de los que van a su presentación, y hasta de los que desean darle la mano o abrazarlo. 

Exijo el mismo derecho para mí, que no asistiré a su función y que solamente después de un honesto arrepentimiento de él por haber directa o indirectamente apoyado a asesinos y ladrones, pudiera  considerar un acercamiento personal.

¡A lo mejor hasta somos parientes lejanos!
