Former President Donald Trump faces more than 30 counts related to business fraud in an indicted from a Manhattan grand jury, according to two sources familiar with the case. It marks the first time in US history that a current or former president will face criminal charges.

There are two faces with this indictment by New York’s District Attorney, one legal and second political.    

It is going to fail in both counts. First the legal basis for the charge is obtuse at best, if true it is a federal case not a State’s, and its only witness is a felon that served prison for lying!     

He also magically turned a misdemeanor to a criminal charge, and a limit for prosecution of 5 years to 7!    The second and only purpose for this action was intended to damage President Trump in his announced plan to run for the presidency in the 2024 election.  

This accusation just feeds to Trump’s playbook and will only excite and arouse his many unconditional followers and might push to his favor many in the fence.  

New York has a huge criminal problem made worse by state Attorney Bragg tendency to decrease the accused charges or dismiss them completely.   

His attempt to get involved in national politics should only increase the negative opinion that the New York voters have of him.       

Trump, as expected, did not waste time in rallying his followers, stating the obvious and rightly so claiming its only purpose was to derail his already announced candidacy for president.   

 Trump, being Trump, added that it was a race he was already winning “by far”, because as we all know, there is no middle ground for his actions.    

So, as predicted, Bragg’s attempt to play in the “big leagues” will fail, and his future will be to go back to the “minors”.
