El pasado 3 de agosto, el cantante estadounidense Tony Bennett celebró sus 95 cumpleaños. Nacido en Queens, Nueva York, en 1926, Bennet es uno de los últimos cantantes internacionales que se presentaron en Cuba durante la era republicana que aún viven. En 1957, Bennett grabó el disco “The Beat of My Heart” (“El Compás de Mi Corazón”), producción con influencias cubanas en la cual también participaron el cubano Cándido Camero y otros músicos. Al celebrar la vida de este tesoro de la música universal, nos enorgullece poder recalcar su colaboración cubana.

On August 3rd, American Singer Tony Bennett celebrated his 95th birthday. Born in Queens, New York in 1926, the beloved singer is one of the last living international singers who performed in Cuba during the Republican era. In 1957, Bennett recorded the album “The Beat of My Heart,” a production with Cuban influences where he was joined by Cuban drummer Cándido Camero and other musicians. As we celebrate the life of this universal musical treasure, we are proud to be able to highlight his Cuban collaboration.
