Este 24 de febrero se conmemora otro aniversario del Grito de Baire, fecha patria que marcó el comienzo de la Guerra de Independencia cubana. En las imágenes de los mambises libertadores vemos el reflejo de un pueblo que ha luchado dignamente por su libertad durante más de un siglo. Hoy, el espíritu de la Guerra Necesaria que comenzó en Baire continúa iluminando el camino del pueblo cubano hacia la libertad.

Remembering Baire

This February 24th marks another anniversary of the Grito de Baire, a Cuban national holiday that marks the beginning of Cuba’s War of Independence. In the images of the liberating mambí soldiers, we see the reflection of a people who, for over a century, have fought with dignity for their freedom. Today, the spirit of the Necessary War that began in Baire continues to illuminate the Cuban people’s path to freedom.
