Muchos culpan al embargo económico por la crisis en Cuba,

Pero:

– El embargo no prohíbe a los pescadores pescar; la dictadura sí.

– El embargo no prohíbe a los cubanos comer carne; la dictadura sí.

– El embargo no confisca los alimentos que los cubanos cultivan; la dictadura sí.

– El embargo no regula el sacrificio de los animales, ni la recogida de las frutas y vegetales cultivadas en suelo cubano, mientras los cubanos pasan hambre; la dictadura sí.

– El embargo no exporta las frutas y vegetales de excelente calidad a otros países, mientras los cubanos pasan hambre; la dictadura sí.

– El embargo no prohibe a los cubanos operar sus negocios privados en la isla; la dictadura sí.

– El embargo no ha destruido los centrales azucareros, industrias textiles, talleres de zapato a causa de su mala administración; la dictadura sí.

– El embargo no es quien no paga a los cubanos con pesos cubanos y les exige adquirir los alimentos y productos esenciales en dólares que son tres veces más caros; la dictadura sí.

– El embargo no fuerza al cubano a depositar su dinero en bancos del gobierno y después les prohibe extraerlo; ni chantajea a los exiliados usando a sus familiares en la isla; ni exporta personal médico a otros países, mientras los cubanos mueren ante la falta de atención médica; la dictadura sí.

– El embargo no persigue al cubano ni lo encarcela por pensar diferente; ni adoctrina a los niños en las escuelas con ideas de socialismo o muerte; ni mantiene a centenares de prisioneros políticos que no han cometido crimen; ni fabrica hoteles para el turismo internacional mientras los techos de los cubanos se vienen abajo; la dictadura sí.

– El embargo no limita el número de cubanos que pueden viajar al exterior mientras permiten la entrada ilimitada de turistas extranjero en los hoteles de las compañías operadas por los militares; ni mantienen los hospitales en pésimas condiciones; ni encarecen los servicios esenciales, como agua, electricidad, gas y teléfono hasta en los momentos más críticos de la crisis del  Covid; la dictadura sí.

Hermanos cubanos podemos continuar así esta lista hasta el infinito.

El gobierno comunista de Cuba siempre culpa al embargo por todo sus fracasos. Sin embargo EE.UU. regularmente autoriza la exportación de productos agrícolas, medicinales y equipos médicos y humanitarios a Cuba.

Desde 1992 ha autorizado la exportación de billones de dólares de esos bienes a Cuba.

El pasado año, EE.UU. exportó $176 millones de dólares en productos a Cuba. En los primeros seis meses de 2021, Cuba importó $123 millones de dólares en pollo norteamericano, por solo citar un ejemplo.

Es el gobierno cubano quien tiene un bloqueo sobre sus ciudadanos, rehenes que son de un régimen totalitario.

EL FALSO “MITO”  DEL EMBARGO

EE.UU. es el primer importador, entre 15 países, de alimentos y medicinas a Cuba, por $276 millones al año, “muy a pesar del célebre embargo”. Además, residentes norteamericanos envían remesas familiares a la isla ascendentes a $3.5 billones al año.Y más de 500,000 turistas norteamericanos visitaron Cuba en 2019. ¿Es esto un embargo?

Many blame the US economic embargo for the crisis in Cuba, But:

— The US embargo does not prohibit fishers in Cuba from fishing; the dictatorship does.

— The US embargo does not prohibit the Cuban people from eating meat; the dictatorship does.

— The US embargo does not confiscate the food they harvest from the peasants; the dictatorship does.

— The US embargo does not allow animals to die, and fruit and vegetables rot in the countryside while Cubans go hungry; the dictatorship does.

— The US embargo does not export Cuban fruits and vegetables of the best quality to countries worldwide while Cubans go hungry; the dictatorship does.

— The US embargo does not prohibit Cubans from having their own businesses on the island; the dictatorship does.

— The US embargo does not destroy every sugar mill, textile factory, shoe store, canning factory due to its mismanagement; the dictatorship does.

— The US embargo does not pay Cubans with Cuban pesos and forces you to buy food and essential products in dollars three times more expensive than their actual value; the dictatorship does.

— The US embargo does not force you to put your money in the bank and then forbids you to take it out; the dictatorship does.

— The US embargo does not blackmail exiled Cubans with their families living on the island; the dictatorship does.

— The US embargo does not «export» medical personnel to other countries while the Cuban people die at home due to lack of medical attention; the dictatorship does.

— The US embargo does not beat down and imprisons Cubans for thinking differently; the dictatorship does.

— The US embargo does not indoctrinate children in schools with ideas of Socialism or Death; the dictatorship does.

— The US embargo does not keep hundreds of political prisoners who have not committed any crime; the dictatorship does.

— The US embargo does not build hotels for international tourism while the roofs of Cubans fall on their heads; the dictatorship does.

— The US embargo does not limit the number of Cuban citizens that can travel to Cuba and their luggage size while allowing the unrestricted entry of foreign tourists to the hotels of the military companies; the dictatorship does.

— The US embargo does not keep hospitals in Cuba disgusting; the dictatorship does.

— The US embargo does not raise the price of essential services like water, electricity, gas, and telephony in the most challenging moment of the Covid crisis; the dictatorship did.

My Cuban brothers can follow this endless list.

The Cuban government always blames the US embargo for all its economic, political, and social failures. But United States regularly authorizes the export of agricultural products, medicine, medical equipment, and humanitarian goods to Cuba — and, since 1992, has authorized the export of billions of dollars of those goods to Cuba.

Last year alone, the U.S. exported $176 million of goods to Cuba. In the first six months of 2021, Cuba imported $123 million worth of chicken from the United States — just as an example.

The Cuban government has an internal blockade on its citizens. It has the Cuban people imprisoned in Cuba, hostages of a totalitarian government.

USA is the first of Cuba’s 15 largest trading partners and the biggest exporter of food, medicines and agricultural goods to Cuba in the amount of $276 million a year. US residents send $3.5 billion a year in family remittances to the island, and more than 500,000 U.S. tourists visited Cuba in 2019. Is that an embargo?
