Este 4 de julio, Día de la Independencia de los Estados Unidos, merece recordar los estrechos vínculos históricos que unen al pueblo estadounidense con el pueblo cubano. Estos vínculos se han hecho inseparables tras décadas de exilio, periodo en que millones de cubanos han ido a vivir en los Estados Unidos y varias generaciones de cubanos-americanos han nacido en territorio estadounidense. La celebración de libertad que representa el 4 de julio sirve para también festejar estos lazos entre ambos países.



July 4th and the ties between the United States and Cuba

On this July 4th, the United States’ Independence Day, it is worth remembering the close historical links that unite the American people and the Cuban people. These links have become inseparable following decades of exile, period in which millions of Cubans have gone to live in the United States and several generations of Cuban-Americans have been born on U.S. territory. The celebration of freedom that the 4th of July represents serves to also celebrate these ties among both countries.
