Former British Prime Minister Winston Churchill’s (1874-1965) links with Cuba and the Cuban people go back to his youth. Back then he visited Cuba for the first time as a reporter during the War of Independence. Later he returned to the island on numerous occasions, demonstrating his love for its scenery, its beaches, and its cigars.
