El pasado 13 de octubre recibimos la triste noticia del fallecimiento de la destacada actriz, cantante y presentadora de televisión cubano-española Mayra Gómez-Kemp. Nació en La Habana el 14 de febrero de 1948 al matrimonio compuesto por los recordados y queridos artistas Velia Martínez y Ramiro Gómez-Kemp. Se exilió con su familia en 1960, estableciéndose en Puerto Rico, luego en Venezuela y finalmente en Miami. En la década de 1970 se trasladó a España, donde actuó y radicó definitivamente. Allí conquistó corazones con su carisma y talento desde su llegada. Famosa por su papel como presentadora de “Un, dos, tres… responder de nuevo”, programa que se emitió durante los años 70 y 80, Mayra iluminó las pantallas españolas con su energía contagiosa y su eterna sonrisa. Su papel en el programa no solo le ganó popularidad, sino también numerosos premios y reconocimientos.

On October 13th, we received the sad news of the passing of the outstanding Cuban-Spanish actress, singer, and television presenter Mayra Gómez-Kemp. She was born in Havana on February 14, 1948 to remembered and beloved artists Velia Martínez and Ramiro Gómez-Kemp. She went into exile with his family in 1960, settling in Puerto Rico, then in Venezuela and finally in Miami. In the 1970s she went to Spain, where she performed and settled permanently. Since her arrival there, she conquered hearts with her charisma and talent. Famous for her role as the presenter of «Un, dos, tres… respond again», a program that aired during the 70s and 80s, Mayra lit up the Spanish screens with her contagious energy and her eternal smile. Her role on the show not only gained her popularity, but also numerous awards and recognitions.
