Este 4 de julio LIBRE cumple 55 años de existencia. ¡Qué mejor fecha para surgir, que el día de la proclamación de la independencia de los Estado Unidos!

Ahí estan sus ediciones, notas y archivos. ¡Cuanto bregar desde entonces a estos tiempos!

Muy pocas las caras de aquellas épocas que continúan en existencia. No faltaron quienes vaticinaban el fracaso del empeño, prefiriendo acogerse a causas y “contactos” que les aseguraran una existencia subvencionada y temporal.

Con humildad y altura de miras, nos asomamos al futuro, sin odios ni rencores, seguros de que la razón nos inspira y marchamos por la senda correcta que nos ha permitido llegar a estos 55 años de publicación y preferencia.

A los amigos no hay que ofrecerles explicaciones, solo más dedicaciones. A los otros, los hechos hablan, y se los ofrendamos con toda estima.

¡Qué el Señor nos permita cumplir el reto de sucesión con una edición para las seis (no 14) verdaderas provincias cubanas bajo un Sol de libertades!

TURNS 55!

On July 4 LIBRE celebrates 55 years of existence. What better date to begin than the day that the United States proclaimed its independence!

There have been many editions, notes and files. We have worked hard from then to now!

Very few faces from those first years are still around. There were plenty of naysayers who predicted the failure of the endeavor, preferring to manipulate issues and “contacts” to assure themselves of a subsidized and temporary existence.

With humility and firm purpose, we look to the future, without hatred or grudges, knowing that we are doing what is right and we march along the path that has allowed us to reach these 55 years of publication and loyal readership.

Our friends do not need explanations or excuses,          they know the dedication that has carried us for all these years. To the others, the facts speak for themselves, and they are proudly on display.

May the Lord allow us to fulfill the challenge of succession with an edition for the six (not 14) Cuban provinces under a sun of freedom!
