A scorpion wants to cross a river but cannot swim, so it asks a frog to carry it across. The frog hesitates, afraid that the scorpion might sting it, but the scorpion promises not to, pointing out that it would drown if it killed the frog in the middle of the river. The frog considers this argument sensible and agrees to transport the scorpion. Midway across the river, the scorpion stings the frog anyway, dooming them both. The dying frog asks the scorpion why it stung despite knowing the consequence, to which the scorpion replies: «I am sorry, but I couldn’t resist the urge. It’s my character.»
Throughout recent history, there has been a deep conflict between the State of Palestine and Israel.
In the latest attempt of peaceful co-existence, Palestinians voted as
leaders the Hamas Party, against the more moderate party of Fatah.
Hamas was, and is, a
terrorist group allied to and supported by Iran.
The latest incursion from these terrorists into Israel was no surprise.
The timing, cruelty and lack of respect for life, and the inability of Israel to anticipate and respond in kind were a surprise.
As in any war, the main victims are the innocent population.
First the Israelites and now Palestine’s become victims.
At present, the Israeli army is in Palestine, searching and eliminating their enemies.
Our “academia” and students are espousing a “ceasefire”. Too late!
The scorpion is already in the frogs back and bit! Hamas must be eliminated as an anti-Israel, and anti-USA group and the group’s leader, Iran, has to be taken to task.
There is no space for a Middle East military (and close to nuclear) power left to coexist among nations that aspire to live in peace!
