Statement by State Attorney Katherine Fernandez Rundle regarding  Miami-Dade Police Officer Shot

Katherine Fernandez Rundle State Attorney Judicial Circuit and for Miami-Dade County. Miami –August 16, 2022

“Last  night  one  of  our  fine  Miami-Dade  Police  Officers  was  shot  in  Northwest  Miami. 

He  was immediately  transported  to  Jackson  Memorial  Hospital  and  remains  hospitalized.  We  in  law enforcement are monitoring his status.

Upon being informed of this incident,  I sent a team of prosecutors to the shooting scene and to the hospital.

The Florida Department of Law Enforcement will be investigating all the circumstances surrounding this shooting incident.

At this time, I am asking our community to pray for the officer, his family and

colleagues.”
