Hail to the Redskins!
Hail, victory!
Braves on the warpath!
Fight for Old D.C.!
How many people get tricked into a cult or business because of group pressure and manufactured positivity to influence you to take the plunge? If we human beings were such an intelligent independent, being we would see through all the scams and use our common sense, right? Sadly, we are not as intelligent and independent as we would like to think we are. Yes, we have potential and there are anomalies. However, the majority of us are like sheep and act according to our herd. This is the reality of our society. From uptown classy people to the downtown hipsters. They are basically the same. We are herd animals. That’s why we are so predictable. That’s why big corporate businesses can make billions upon billions of dollars, selling the same stuff over and over again. Yet many of us are unaware of this. Plugged in the matrix as we call it. Once you see what is really going on, you can never go back. Strive to become an anomaly. Be a leader. Be independent. Don’t be part of the herd. Alex Wise.
We have to recognize the basic fact that this name and its logo have been used for more than eighty years.
The “Redskins” name was intended to symbolize courage, bravery in battle, and a desire to win. Indeed, the name Redskins dates back to the 17th century and was created by the British and applied to natives inhabiting the northeast of our country, referring not to a skin color, but to paints used by the group to demonstrate valor in combat. In fact, a positive meaning for the original inhabitants that had that custom.
To this day, the majority of Native Americans as well as the rest of us does not feel that Washington’s logo had a demeaning connotation.
The opposition comes from scholarly groups, the press, and the “politically correct” crowd. Don Snyder, the team’s principal owner, was adamant in his refusal to change the name and the free market seemed to support him.
Unfortunately, he caved to the big corporations like Federal Express which threatened to cease supporting the team’s stadium.
In my opinion the most important aspect of this news is the increasing intervention of the so called “elite” supported by the mainstream media and the fascist mob that claim to know what is best for our lives, choices, and behavior.
If individuals consider any name to be demeaning, vulgar and/or offensive it should behoove them as part of their education, morals and good manners to avoid the term, and they can make their displeasure felt by not attending or sponsoring any activity that promotes or uses the name.
The politically correct group claims that the use of some words is purposely used by society to marginalize minorities.
Their efforts to, acting as judge and jury, ban these words, and those of our government to decide what is appropriate, remind us of Orwell’s 1984 classic book.
This dangerous trend of eliminating words that make some uncomfortable has the opposite of the desired effect, as it perpetuates the prejudice and makes the goal of integration more difficult to achieve.
I believe that Native Americans in the immense majority were not offended by the term, and if we continue to behave like sheep, we will be enslaved by a minority that will decide every aspect of our lives.
We are about to know the new name that will be used for Washington’s football team. “Commander” is one that has been mentioned.
I do not care. I will personally still root for them as the Washington Redskins! Why? Because as a free man, I have the right to free speech! And as far of the “wokes/idiots”, that might express a negative opinion of my decision, I will respond repeating the final words of a great movie: “Frankly my dear, I don’t give a damn!”
