El pasado 21 de octubre se conmemoró el centenario del natalicio de Celia Cruz. Gracias a su trayectoria musical y artística, su humildad y su sencillez, millones de personas alrededor del mundo admiraron y quisieron a “la Guarachera de Cuba” durante sus años en los escenarios. Aunque falleció en julio del 2003, su música sigue sonando y su legado como símbolo del exilio cubano sigue vivo.

October 21st marked the centennial of the birth of Celia Cruz. Thanks to her musical and artistic career, her humility, and her simplicity, millions of people around the world admired and loved “Cuba’s Guarachera” during her years on stage. Cruz passed away in July of 2003, but her music continues to play and her legacy as a symbol of the Cuban exile community remains alive.
