Dulce Esperanza Wohner Ventayol de Vega nació el 26 de diciembre de 1931 (o 1933), en Rancho Boyeros, Cuba. Dulce Esperanza Wohner Ventayol de Vega was born on December 26, 1931 (or 1933), in Rancho Boyeros, Cuba. Her artistic training began at the prestigious academy of the Pro Arte Musical Society in Havana and was further refined at the School of American Ballet in New York. Throughout a distinguished career spanning from the 1940s to the mid-1960s, she performed on some of the world’s most renowned stages. She danced with the American Ballet Theatre in the United States, the Alicia Alonso Ballet (later known as the Ballet of Cuba) in her homeland, and prestigious European companies including the Stuttgart Ballet, the Bayerische Staatsoper Ballet in Munich, and the Hamburg Ballet in Germany, where she established herself as one of the leading ballerinas of her generation. After retiring from the stage, she settled in Jacksonville, Florida, where she devoted herself to teaching and mentoring future generations of dancers.
