En días recientes, la Junta Patriótica Cubana (JPC) celebró su 44a convención anual. Desde su creación en 1980, la JPC se ha dado a la tarea de unir a todas las organizaciones del exilio para coordinar la lucha contra la dictadura castrista. Su fundador, el Dr. Manuel Antonio de Varona Loredo, exsenador y primer ministro cubano, fue su fundador y presidente durante los primeros años de la organización. Entre las filas de la JPC han militado líderes de la talla de Luís Casero Guillén (Tesorero), Julio Estorino (presidente), Roberto Rodríguez de Aragón (presidente), Felipe Fontanills (Presidente), Julio Cabarga (Presidente), Antonio Esquivel (presidente), Iván Sánchez (actual presidente), Leonor Ferreira, Claudio Benedí Beruff y Emilio “Millo” Ochoa, entre otros. Hoy, la JPC continúa jugando un papel muy importante como puente entre las distintas épocas de la lucha por la libertad de Cuba.

44 Years of the Cuban Patriotic Junta

Recently, the Cuban Patriotic Junta (JPC) celebrated its 44th annual convention. Since its creation in 1980, the JPC has sought to unite all exile organizations to coordinate the struggle against the Castro dictatorship. Its founder, Dr. Manuel Antonio de Varona Loredo, a former Cuban Senator and Prime Minister, was its founder and President during the organization’s early years. Joining the ranks of the JPC have been important leaders such as Luís Casero Guillén (Treasurer), Julio Estorino (President), Roberto Rodríguez de Aragón (President), Felipe Fontanills (President), Julio Cabarga (President), Antonio Esquivel (President), Iván Sánchez (current president), Leonor Ferreira, Claudio Benedí Beruff, and Emilio “Millo” Ochoa, among others. Today, the JPC continues to play a very important role as a bridge between the different eras of the struggle for a free Cuba.
